Gather ‘round, cocktail-loving cronies! We want to tell the tale of how we met Madam Cadora, the wizarding world’s most famous bartender, during a recent visit to The Three Broomsticks pub and inn. Known for serving drinks to some of the most famous and infamous witches and wizards, Madam Cadora spilled the divination tea and revealed some savory secrets about her famous past patrons.

She told us all about how Severus Snape religiously spiked his Butterbeer with Gillywater and how Harry Potter spit out his very first shot of Firewhisky. Madam Cadora was also kind enough to fill us in on The Three Broomstick’s most popular Harry Potter cocktails and how to concoct them from the comfort of our own Muggle-abodes. So get your goblets ready, because we’re eager to pass Cadora’s confidential cocktail information onto you. No wands or cauldrons necessary!

Death Eater Dirty Martini

It's been said that Death Eaters often discuss ways to vindicate The Dark Lord while sipping this cocktail. Known for its unmistakable sour taste, it’s evident why Lucius Malfoy faithfully orders a Death Eater whenever he’s busy making pernicious plans at The Three Broomsticks. We recommend smoked fish or anchovy spread to compliment the briny flavor. After guzzling down a couple, it didn’t make us want to swear our allegiance to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, thank goodness!

The Avada Kedavra Adios

Before being thrown into Azkaban for committing unforgivable crimes, Bellatrix Lestrange once drank too many Avada Kedavras and challenged every customer at The Three Broomsticks to a duel. She was carted away immediately and the only duel that took place was between Bellatrix and the bouncer. Spoiler alert: the bouncer won! Although potent, the Avada Kedavra Adios is the perfect party drink, but only when consumed responsibly.

Patronus Colada

Only the most skilled wizards and witches can cast the Patronus charm, but just about everyone (yes, even Muggles, too) can mix the delicious drink. You don’t need a wand made from dragon heartstring and phoenix feather to make it, just ensure there’s a blender and a handful of pineapple slices available. The frothy potion is a tropical treat twisted with a fresh coconut flavor, so it’s the perfect drink to serve in the summer. Pair a Patronus Colada with loaded nachos, quesadillas, or tacos for a delicious fusion of flavor!

Weasley Sour

The most difficult part about making a Weasley Sour is deciding which whiskey to use. The rest is straightforward! This cocktail is simple and reliable in a pinch (just like Ron). All you have to do is shake up all the ingredients, pour it in a glass, and top it off with a cherry and an orange wedge. The tangy drink is dubbed after the good-hearted Weasley family because of its orange-colored appearance. We suggest arranging an assorted cheese platter to accompany this drink.

Mandrake Julep

Don’t place an order for expensive Mandrake leaves just yet because this cocktail only calls for mint leaves. (The fresher, the better!) Madam Cadora tells us that this specialty drink is ideal for bourbon lovers and anyone who’s attending a derby. The powerful concoction tastes great when served with pimento cheese sandwiches and lemon-and-oil marinated chicken breast. We should also mention a Mandrake Julep is incapable of curing petrification: you’ll need real Mandrake leaves for that!

Godric Gryffindor's Famous Gimlet

If you think the Sorting Hat would exclaim “Gryffindor” when placed upon your head, then the Famous Gimlet is the drink for you. A popular cocktail named after house founder Godric Gryffindor, its lime-infused taste is adored by some of the most accomplished and intelligent wizards and witches. Minerva McGonagall and Hermione Granger order it whenever they dine at The Three Broomsticks. Serve this drink with cured salmon sprinkled with fresh lime juice and mouths will water.

Dumbledore's Lemon Drop

Former Hogwarts students can recall visiting Albus Dumbledore’s office and seeing a bowl on his desk filled to the brim with lemon drops. Everyone who knew the powerful headmaster knew his affinity for the sour candy that he simply couldn’t resist. While concocting this sour drink named after the treat, Madam Cadora uses fresh sugar from Honeydukes candy shop to coat the glass’ rim, but any sugar will do. This pungent drink, dedicated to the beloved headmaster, tastes both tart and refreshing, making it the perfect cocktail for adults with a sweet tooth!

The Bloody Baron's Blood Mary

If you plan on hosting a brunch, there’s no better adult refreshment to serve than The Bloody Baron’s Bloody Mary. Packed with all sorts of delectable goodies, the hangover cure (at least for us Muggles) reinvigorates the body after a night of drinking. It can also be made spicy or mild to accommodate all taste buds. Don’t worry about serving an entree with this classic brunch drink, just stack cheese, olives, and beef jerky on a skewer and it’s ready to serve. Also, we should mention that those who use our recipe will not be hassled by the bothersome Bloody Baron, we promise!

The Dark Lord's Deadly Long Island Iced Tea

There’s nothing delicate about this strong cocktail, so fill your guests’ bellies with lots of heavy foods before mixing this potent drink. Serving cheeseburgers, chicken wings, and even hot dogs to accompany this beverage is a wise idea. The Dark Lord’s Deadly Long Island Iced Tea is mixed with four different types of alcohol and topped off with a splash of soda, so it’s imperative to drink responsibly. Remember, it’s named after Lord Voldemort for a reason!

Entertain all of your friends and family using these Harry Potter cocktail recipes and your guests will surely have a magical (and intoxicated) evening. Oh, avocado toast. That wonderful, delicious breakfast of champions. A favorite of Millennials and, apparently, the cause of all their economic woes. Or maybe not. But it’s also a great Halloween costume, if you’re into making your own DIY costume based on internet memes. (Which you should be, even if certain media outlets think it's a bad idea!) In this costume tutorial, we show you a few different ways to put together a fun avocado toast DIY Halloween costume.

Avocado over Toast Costumes

The first, easiest option is to get one avocado costume and one toast costume, and wear the avocado costume over the toast costume. Super simple. It’s as easy as, well, putting avocado on toast. This one’s best if you’re going alone, or if you’re not planning on coordinating costumes with anyone else. Plus, these two costumes won't set you back a mortgage payment.

Avocado and Toast Costumes for Couples

The next option is for couples or groups. One of you throws on the avocado costume and the other rocks that toast costume, so when together you’re avocado toast. It really can’t miss. Unless, that is, you avoid each other all Halloween. But if you’re going to do that, then maybe a couples costume wasn’t the best choice, was it? We should mention here that couples costumes aren’t just for, you know, romantic couples. You can totally go with your friend. You’ve got our permission!

Plain Toast Costume

Here’s your chance to let your imagination go wild! Use this toast costume as a base, and add your own DIY avocado on top. We don’t recommend real avocado, because that would get all brown and disgusting super fast. Maybe some greenish fabric, like an old shirt. Just pin or sew that on and you’re good to go. You could also take a trip to the local craft or fabric store for some crepe paper or upholstery material.

Every year around late August and early September, people start to get the Halloween itch. Then October 1st rolls around and they're in full Halloween mode and taking to social media to express how excited they are for the holiday. One of the most recognizable and shared memes about fall excitement is Matt Geiler, better known as the Dancing Pumpkin Man. Geiler became an internet sensation when he first appeared in his full black suit and pumpkin mask, dancing to the Ghostbusters theme. The dance premiered during a Halloween night news broadcast on KVXO, a local station in Omaha, Nebraska. The video was then uploaded on the channel's YouTube page and has since had more than 7,000,000 views.

The Original Appearance

In the eleven years since making his debut, the Dancing Pumpkin Man has been all over the internet. Many GIFs and a countless number of parody videos have been made. KXVO even brought Geiler back for Christmas and Valentine's Day (still in the pumpkin mask, of course). Sporting a new, sparkly purple suit, he recently made a short-lived appearance on America's Got Talent and is featured in the latest ad from Dunkin Donuts. With popularity like that, a fun DIY of the Dancing Pumpkin Man was inevitable! The Finished Look

The black suit is an all-time classic. It's the more subtle option, though subtlety is objective when you're dressed in a skin-tight suit with a pumpkin mask!

Purple Suit Look

The purple suit is new. It's hip and flashy. While the purple suit may not be as recognizable as the black suit, it is still sure to stand out if you choose this option.

Getting the look here is really simple. You just really need to decide if you want to go with the classic black suit or the new purple suit. If you go with the purple, make sure you add something shiny to sparkle it up a bit. We used glitter and some iron-on sequins. Once you've got your suit, all you need is a pumpkin mask and some killer dance moves.

As far as meme costumes go, you can't go wrong by dressing up as the Dancing Pumpkin Man. Of course, there are plenty of other fun memes to dress up as for Halloween. Marvel superhero Thor debuted in 1962, primarily the work of artist Jack Kirby, editor Stan Lee, and scripter (and Lee’s brother) Larry Lieber. While the original costume that they designed (blue armor, red cape, and silver winged helmet) is considered a classic at this point, it’s certainly not the only one Thor has worn over the past 55 years. Are you ready to unite the league? Justice League is set to hit theaters and be one of the biggest movies of the season (that is, until a little movie called Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out). Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman (maybe?) will be welcoming newcomers Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg to the team in a fight to save the world. The latest DC heroes team-up is the fifth in what has been unnofficially titled the "DC Extended Universe" of films, following up the franchises' biggest hit, Wonder Woman. 

Though Wonder Woman turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year (it recently became the highest-grossing movie featuring a superhero's origin story), the prior movies have been met with criticism and complaints of the films being too dark and grim. Warner Bros. has made statements that Justice League will address those complaints and even invited press out to visit the set while filming. We're also doing our part in bringing more brightness to the Justice League movie. Below, we've illustrated the team of heroes in a "lighter" fashion, similar to the popular 70s cartoon Super Friends. Each character still has their updated costume with some stylish 70s flair added to it. Check it out and use the slider to switch back and forth between the cartoon and the current film design!

Pumpkin masks are a Halloween classic, and we’re not talking about facial peels. (Pause for laughter.) The 31st WWE Royal Rumble will take place on January 28, 2018. 52 years ago in Fantastic Four #52, Black Panther debuted as the first black superhero in mainstream American comic books. His alter ego is T’Challa, head of the Panther Tribe and king of Wakanda, a fictional African nation in the Marvel Comics universe. T'Challa was married to Storm of the X-Men for six years and, as Black Panther, fought alongside the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. The character was never as well-known as these Marvel Comics heavyweights, but that appears to be changing. Actor Chadwick Boseman was lauded for his performance as T'Challa in Captain America: Civil War, and the Black Panther solo movie is setting records for advance ticket sales.

Which makes this the perfect time to look back at how Black Panther has evolved, starting with his genesis in 1965 and debut the following year. We've included every major costume within the mainstream Marvel Comics continuity except for designs worn for only a short time. We also look at his Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances plus three other superheroes who briefly took up the mantle as Black Panther.

Getting ready for Purim, but don't have a costume picked out yet? We've put together some of this year's most popular costumes to help narrow your choices down! This year, Purim will begin the evening of Wednesday, February 28 and will end during the evening of Thursday, March 1. Traditions include participating in the three-day Fast of Esther, reading the Megillah (Book of Esther) aloud, giving gifts to the poor, dressing in costumes (our favorite part!), and throwing festivals full of food, drinks, and dancing.

The story of Purim follows a Jewish woman named Esther, who was chosen to be the wife of King Ahasuerus of Persia. The King's chief minister, Haman, develops a hatred towards the Jewish community and creates an evil plan to wipe out every Jew in their kingdom. Esther's cousin, Mordechai, hears of this plan and urges Esther to use her influence to stop the attack. The biblical story ends with a victory, as Esther saves her community from a potential annihilation.

Anyone who has seen Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien is well aware of the famous Chestbuster scene in which an alien life form literally explodes through the chest of officer Kane. The scene is one of the more shocking scenes in the film franchise, not to mention one of the most memorable in the sci-fi genre. While the alien in the scene has such an iconic look to it, it may not be the easiest thing to do in regards to a Halloween costume. The Chestbuster alien costume would require the use of a prop, a feature some people may not want to commit to for a Halloween costume. Besides, if you're going to dress up as a creature from the Alien franchise, you're most likely to wear some form of Xenomorph costume. Since those can also be bulky, we've tried out some different makeup effects to get a more practical form of the perfect organism.

You could maybe swap the black paint in the tutorial for a greenish color and create a solid zombie costume.

Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice! BEETLEJUICE! Just say the name three times and he will appear, ready to scare you and gross you out as well. Tim Burton's 1988 classic starring Michael Keaton as the ghost with the most himself, Beetlejuice sure burned an image into many minds.
