Trump Chicken DIY

This Halloween, be prepared to unleash fire and furry if you dress up as the famous Donald Trump chicken. Yesterday, a giant inflatable chicken with "presidential hair" showed up near the White House and the internet lost its mind trying to figure out what was happening. Of course, this is right after the president "flew the coop" on a vacation, so he wasn't around to pose with the chicken or talk about how it's the best chicken. Anyway, we thought this presidential chicken was the perfect inpiration for a Halloween costume, so here's an easy way to get the look!

DIY Trump Chicken Costume

The Inspiration

Source

As you can see, this chicken means business and is not to be reckoned with. The chicken was designed by Seattle artist Casey Latiolais and is owned by filmmaker Taran Singh Brar, who even secured a permit to have it set up south of the White House on the Ellipse. Though the inflatable stands about 30 feet tall, we think the wings are on the small side so it's a little tough to make out the hand gestures.

The Finished Look

"Trust me, I'm the best chicken."

"Trump Hair, Don't Care"

Look at that head of hair! You'll need to take caution if you go out on a windy day. With a look like this, you'll be the top bird this Halloween! You're sure to get plenty of odd looks and laughs in this costume. Just remember, there will be people laughing with you and at you. Hopefully, your feathers don't get too ruffled that you do something irrational. Just stand tall and flap those wings and as you attempt to Make America Chicken Again!

Items Used

Chicken Costume - Shop     Trump Wig - Shop     Make America Great Again Hat - Shop

This is a costume that you'll have no problem pulling together. The main component you'll need is a chicken costume. We used our deluxe mascot version, but there are other options that will work as well. Additionally, you'll need a Donald Trump wig, or perhaps a few. We used 3 for this particular costume (thankfully, they're on sale), which we pinned together and styled up nicely with a comb and hairspray. We also cut some hair off for eyebrows as a nice finishing touch. Once you have the hair in place, your costume is complete! If you do want to add a little more, you can always throw on a "Make America Great Again" hat because, who are we kidding, chicken makes everything great.

What do you think? Is Trump Chicken tough enough for you? There's still plenty of time to decide whether Trump Chicken is going to be part of your Halloween plans, unless something else comes along. Who knows? Maybe a giant dragon will show up on the White House lawn. Maybe Daenerys Targaryen will be riding it. Anyway, if you like Trump Chicken, you may want to check out some other political costumes for Halloween.

Defenders Then and Now

It's about to get a little crowded in Hell's Kitchen. The time has arrived for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to assemble as The Defenders premieres on Netflix this month. The show will follow the storyline from the end of Daredevil season 2, in which all of the characters finally cross paths to take down The Hand, an ancient organization that is (as you may have guessed) up to no good. If you've watched any of Marvel's shows on Netflix, you know that the personalities of these characters are not of those who work well in teams. Therefore, The Defenders is bound to offer some fun and intriguing character dynamics. In fact, we've already seen some of it in the trailer!

Though this will be the first live action version of The Defenders; the group has existed in comics since 1971 when Doctor Strange recruited Namor and Hulk to form a team that eventually added others as well. This lineup may be an all-new team of Defenders, but they do each have their own history in comics. Most of the characters featured in the series were introduced in comic books more than 30 years ago, with the exception of Jessica Jones, whose first appearance in Alias #1 came in 2001. Jones also happens to be the one who most resembles her initial comic book appearance. Take a look below at our interactive images comparing the main four Defenders and several supporting characters to their original comic book look!

Which character design stands out most to you? How would you rank the Defenders looks against other superhero costumes? We think it'd be fun to see Iron Fist in his original uniform, or Daredevil considering how different the yellow costume is compared to his other costumes. If you're caught up on the rest of the Marvel shows on Netflix and aren't too busy planning your Halloween costume, The Defenders premieres on August 18th on Netflix.

Just grab a friend (or life partner) and you’ve got a great costume for getting into all sorts of shenanigans. Not only are these costumes officially licensed, they're Kevin Smith-approved! Jay Costume - Coming Soon

If you’re going to dress as Jay, you’ve got to have the mouth to match. He’s the vocal part of the duo who barks out orders in coming up with various schemes as well as conducting “business” in front of convenient stores, at the mall, or anywhere else that’s considered a good spot for loitering. He also considers himself a smooth talker with the ladies, so be sure to practice your best pick-up lines. This yellow jacket and black pants combo here matches Jay's look from 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Silent Bob Costume

Just because Silent Bob rarely speaks doesn’t take away from the significance of his character. When he does have something to say, it’s either something profound and deep or because he's lost his cool and needs to get something off his chest. Besides, he's also the more level-headed of the duo and is typically the one solving issues and getting himself and Jay out of trouble. Silent Bob is easily identified by his signature coat and backwards baseball cap.

Jay and Silent Bob Wigs

Jay Wig - Coming Soon     Silent Bob Wig - Coming Soon

So you want to dress as Jay and Silent Bob, but don’t have time (or don’t want) to grow out your hair? No worries, because there are wigs available too! Whether you need some long, luxurious locks like Jay or the dark, shoulder-length hair and beard combo like Silent Bob, you'll have the perfect accessory to complete your look!

So what do you think? Doesn’t dressing as Jay and Silent Bob sound like fun? If you’re feeling really ambitious, you can add to the costumes to become their alter egos Bluntman and Chronic. However, if you want to really get into character, you probably shouldn’t do anything extra with this costume. If you’re looking for more fun and nostalgia, check out the rest of our exclusive Halloween costumes.Snootchie Bootchies!

American Ninja Movies

Ninjas are everywhere, you just can’t see them. They’re hidden, silently observing you and waiting for the perfect time to strike. In fact, studies have shown that there are more than a dozen ninjas, on average, in the room with you right now. Since there’s no escape, you might as well put on a ninja movie to pass the time. And we’ve got the perfect guide for you: a timeline of American Ninja movies from The Octagon through The Lego Ninjago Movie! Note that we went with a rather broad, pop culture definition of ninjas, and stuck to films that featured Americans as main ninja characters or were American-produced with significant plot points involving ninjas. With that qualification out of the way, let’s break out our guide to American Ninja movies!

The softness of the costume only adds to the baby soft skin underneath. One of our favorites is a bunny. Who can resist a cute little rabbit with a fuzzy tail? Another cute idea is to dress dad up as a fisherman and have him holding the best catch of all.

Horror Hockey Masks: 12 Goalie Masks Inspired by Horror Movie Villains

We've finally reached October and Halloween will be arriving sooner than you think! Along with the greatest holiday ever, there is plenty to look forward to in the Autumn months. Things like sweatshirt weather, apple cider, pumpkin spice everything, and watching as many horror movies as possible in the days leading up to October 31st. Every year brings a brand new batch of horror movies, some good and some bad, to add to the neverending list of options to choose from. However, the most popular horror movies to binge watch tend to the be the franchises that feature iconic villains. One of the reasons is because there's so many of them. If a horror movie is successful and has a good villain, they will totally make more. This year alone, we've seen a reboot of Pennywise in the latest adapation of Stephen King's IT. 2017 has also seen or will see new entries from horror franchises including Child's Play, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Saw (which is getting it's eighth film release!).

Another thing to look forward to in October is sports. While baseball season is wrapping up with the playoffs and football is in full swing, basketball and hockey are just beginning. There's always extra excitement in starting a new season with a clean slate for all teams. Both sports provide great entertainment all winter long, but hockey may have greater ties to Halloween. The obvious case being that Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th movies wears an actual hockey mask. In a year that's featured sequels and reboots to some of horror's most notable characters, we decided to combine them with hockey in this fun series of artwork. Below are 12 goalie masks featuring horror movie villains. Check them out!

Click Each Image for Larger View

Jason Voorhees - Friday the 13th

CH-CH-CH-AH-AH-AH. Brrrrrrrr. It's really cold once Crystal Lake freezes over.

Michael Myers - Halloween

Halloween is the night Michael returned home. It's always nice to have home ice advantage.

Freddy Krueger - A Nightmare on Elm Street

Welcome to primetime! You'll never get a puck past Freddy. Not even in your dreams!

Pennywise - IT

Out on the ice, you'll float too! (Mainly because it's frozen water, so it's impossible to sink.)

Chucky - Child's Play

There are no good guys in the sport of hockey, and Chucky is certainly no exception.

The Babadook - The Babadook

Mr. Babadook won't let any goals in, just like how you shouldn't let him into your home.

Leatherface - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Leatherface plays the game fast and loose, the same way he chases mercilessly after his victims.

Billy the Puppet - Saw

Jigsaw wants to play a game....of hockey!

Ghostface - Scream

What's your favorite scary movie? What's your favorite hockey team?

Xenomorph - Alien

On the ice, no one can hear you scream.

Black Phillip - The Witch

Nobody hits harder into the boards than Black Phillip. He plays deliciously.

Pinhead - Hellraiser

Neither the puzzle box nor the penalty box can contain him.

Who is your favorite horror villain? How good do you think they'd be at hockey? Leave a comment and let us know which of these masks is your favorite. Don't forget, the NHL Season begins on October 4th ths year so there will be plenty of exciting games to watch in between binging horror movies. Speaking of which, do you have your list of horror movies to watch this October picked out? There are plenty of great ones out there to choose from. Whether you're heading out to a hockey game this month or going out to celebrate Halloween, you can't go wrong with a horror movie costume if you'd like to wear something intimidating.

Costume Ideas for Redheads

If you find that your hair blends in with the autumn leaves, it might be hard to find a costume that really fits you! Redheads only make up about 2% of the world's population which means that, naturally, they are less represented in popular culture, which translates into less brilliant red-headed costume ideas! But I wouldn't lose sleep over it, because your search is over! Right here in front of you, we have compiled the greatest list of red-headed costume ideas EVER! Though we might be slightly biased.

The Bad Girls

Black Widow Costume             Queen of Hearts Costume             Devil Costume

The list starts off with some of our more dangerous characters. These are the costumes that are perfect for someone ready to kick some butt at the next redhead joke they hear. Now obviously, you don’t actually have to be a redhead to go out as the devil. But if you are, this look works scary good.

The Princesses

This category is dedicated to our extremely diverse redhead princesses, consisting of an ogre, a mermaid, and one human! Now unless you live in Venice, having to swim/flop from house to house is less than Ideal.  So, as much as we wanted to give the Ariel costume a big fin instead of leg holes, we didn't. Also, a special tip for anyone dressing up as Fiona this Halloween: roll around in the nearest swamp roughly three days before Halloween. Then, let that marinate until Halloween night when you put your costume on. You'll look and smell the part!

Women's Retro Redheads

Strawberry Shortcake Costume     Raggedy Ann Costume     Daphne Costume        Wilma Flinstone Costume       Lucy Costume

Now here are some costumes that'll take you back to the good ol' days. From Strawberry Shortcake to Lucy from I Love Lucy, these costumes are timeless classics that everyone would recognize and appreciate. And don’t forget these costumes are also great for a group, considering that these iconic women are all part of a group or a family!

Iconic Redhead costumes for men

Chucky Costume                    The Riddler Costume                       Weasley Costume

These are some icons right out of your favorite movies, all with fiery red hair. I know what you're thinking. "That chump on the right has brown hair, like 90% of the planet, he doesn't belong here." But you have to have some vision here! That Gryffindor robe on a stunning redhead like yourself, well that almost starts to look like.... Ron Weasley? Fred Weasley? George Weasley? Literally any Weasley brother? All it takes is a little vision, just don’t forget your wand!

Fun Men's Redhead costumes

Red Panda Costume             Leprechaun Costume                 Fry Costume           Raggedy Andy Costume

You probably saw the Raggedy Ann costume earlier in the article, so we probably don’t need to tell you which costume to pair with Raggedy Andy...  But the costume on the left might need an explanation. It's a Red Panda! If you have don’t have red hair, stick with the Giant Panda costumes, because the Red Panda is for all you redheads.

So, there you have it, every single one of our favorite Redhead costumes, all in one place! These costumes not only work with, but actually complement your luscious red locks. Costume Ideas to Include Your Third Wheel

$

Nobody really wants to be the third wheel. As the third wheel, you're usually just trying to make the best of an awkward situation. However, this Halloween, the time has come for you to embrace your uncomfortable position and take advantage of the clever, untapped costume potential that exists with the third wheel dynamic. When picking a costume that so largely relies on the unique relationship between the three of you, it can be helpful to pick costumes that most closely mirrors your own relationship. So, in an effort to help you choose your most relatable costume trio, we have compiled our favorite examples of the most common third wheel dynamics.

The Clingy Third Wheel

Shrek Costume                    Donkey Costume                      Fiona Costume

Donkey from Shrek is the epitome of what we look for in a clingy third wheel. His high spirits and devotion to the group make him an inseparable member of this trio, even though he is kind of unnecessary and completely unwanted by his lover-friends at times. The third wheels undying and unwanted devotion are the real defining factors of this dynamic.

Brotherly Love

Luigi Costume                                 Mario Costume                              Princess Peach Costume

Mario, Peach, and Luigi have a very different relationship, characterized by how close Mario and Luigi are. Romantically, Luigi is the odd one out here, but platonically, Mario might be just as close, if not closer, with Luigi than Peach. This makes for an interesting scenario, one where both the Luigi and Peach of the group might feel like the third wheel at times.

Sisterly Love

Elsa Costume                                  Anna Costume                           Kristoff Costume

Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa from Frozen have a very similar relationship to our Mario trio, though this crew has two princesses and one prince! This trio also leaves room for perhaps a second third wheel, Olaf. Unfortunately, two third wheels does NOT make a whole, but at least you would have someone who understands your struggle.

The Dependent Couple

Candlestick Costume            Belle Costume               Beast Costume                 Clock Costume

Our next trio is one of our favorites. Beauty and the Beast are really characterized by one thing: their reliance on the Candlestick! The Candlestick plays mentor to both sides, and this couple might barely survive without him. He has become a centerpiece of this couple (see what we did there?) and both sides are eager to have him around. If you don’t want to walk around as a candlestick, the Clock plays a similar role!

The New couple's Third Wheel

Prince Costume                               Snow White Costume                         Dwarf Costume

Snow White and the Prince bring a whole new meaning to the term blind date, considering Snow White's eyes were closed for their first smooch! This dynamic shows us a new couple where a friend (the Dwarves) comes along for moral support. The Dwarves care a lot about Snow White and they would be there for her through anything! What if they found out the Prince still lived at home? He probably hasn't even moved out of his parent's castle! Well, if Snow White wants to bail, you know the Dwarves are there to come up with an excuse to get her out.

In order to choose your character accurately, you have to look at this in the most unbiased way possible. After all, no one would want to admit that they are a Donkey, and no couple would ever want to admit that they are dependent on a metaphorical Candlestick. But, if you're willing to look at this with an open mind, I am certain you'll find the perfect "plus one" to some great couples costumes. So, what do you think? Which character do you think that you relate to? Tell us in the comments about your third wheel situation before picking out your costume, and have a happy Halloween!

He's Mary Poppins, Y'all! - DIY Yondu Costume and Makeup Tutorial

DIY Yondu Costume Header

This year, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hit theaters and did not disappoint. The follow up to the surprise summer hit of 2014 was an action-packed visual spectacle with even more of the fun character dynamics that were introduced in the first one. Every character had their chance to shine with some hilarious dialogue exchanges. Whether it was Rocket calling Star Lord “Star Munch”, Drax’s poor attempts at sympathy, or Baby Groot being...well...Baby Groot, the movie provided plenty of great quotes.

One of the most memorable quotes came towards the end of the film when Yondu and Star Lord (Peter Quill) had escaped their exploding ship and were floating down to safety together. Yondu was holding onto his arrow like an umbrella handle which prompted this exchange:

Star Lord: “You look like Mary Poppins!”

Yondu: “Is he cool?”

Star Lord: “....yeah. Yeah, he’s cool.”

Yondu: “I’M MARY POPPINS, Y’ALL!”

It didn’t take long after that before the internet was obsessed. All of sudden, people had made memes, custom toys, and cosplays of the blue-faced Yondu in Mary Poppins attire. Even Michael Rooker, the actor who plays Yondu, posting to his instagram about it when he met with a Mary Poppins impersonator at Disneyland. If you’d want to achieve the Yondu Mary Poppins look, we’ve put together a handy DIY costume and makeup tutorial for you below!

Yondu Makeup Tutorial

The video above explains everything you need to do to get the makeup right. It's fairly easy, but keep in mind that there's more to it than just blue facepaint and a bald cap.

Yondu Costume

Once you're all set with the makeup, you’re going to want to pull together your look with a costume. You can use Star Lord’s ravager jacket if you’re looking to go as basic Yondu. However, if you want the full Mary Poppins experience, you’re going to need the nanny costume to match.

The Finished Look

"You can fool yourself and everyone else, but you can't fool me."

Ravager Jacket

"I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!"

Mary Poppins Costume

Now you’ve got your look together, you're ready to go on a bounty hunt to track down Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Or maybe you're ready to join up with them. You could have a pretty sweet group costume going if you could get all of the Guardians together.

What do you think? Is Yondu the look for you? If so, are you going to wear the ravenger jacket or go full Mary Poppins? It's fun to wear a costume with an inside joke from a movie. The best part about this one is that Michael Rooker, the actor who plays Yondu, has embraced the joke as he's made several references on social media and has gone as far as to pose with Mary herself at Disneyland! If you're looking for other Guardians for a group costume, why not check out our full selection of superhero costumes to see what other fun ideas you could come up with.

Horror Movie Costumes

There are two types of people in the world: those who enjoy horror movies year round and those who wait until October 1st before watching such films. While we enjoy our favorite slashers all year long, we certainly understand that during the month of October all the way to Halloween, the villains of these movies are the stars of the show. Speaking of Halloween, what better time than ever to dress as your favorite horror movie monster or villain. Here are some costume ideas featuring some of our favorite maniacs from horror movies.

IT: Pennywise Costumes

IT (2017) Pennywise Gloves - Shop    Authentic Collectible Pennywise Mask - Shop    IT (2017) Pennywise Mask - Shop

It’s stated in the mythology of Stephen King’s IT that Pennywise returns to feast on children every 27 years. So it was fitting for him to return to the big screen in 2017 since the IT mini series premiered in 1990. You may see some clowns and scary clowns out every Halloween, but Pennywise figures to be one of the most popular Halloween costumes of the year after breaking all sorts of box office records for horror movies. Whether you like the classic Tim Curry look or the 2017 version, you'll certainly be able to lure children to the sewers dressed as Pennywise.

A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy Krueger Costumes

Freddy Krueger Costume - Shop    Women's Freddy Krueger Costume - Shop

One two, Freddy's coming for you. Freddy Krueger is one of the most terrifying horror villains of all time! Unlike other characters like Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees, it's not his towering stature that makes him scary. He's quite diminuitive compared to them. Instead, what makes Freddy so scary is that you can't get away from him. Freddy haunts dreams, so if you think you've outrun him, he'll just turn up again. You'll be the man (or woman) of everyone's dreams if you dress as Freddy Krueger this Halloween.

Halloween: Michael Myers Costumes

Michael Myers Costume - Shop    Michael Myers Mask - Shop    Michael Myers Tears Mask - Shop

Child Michael Myers Costume - Shop    Butcher Knife - Shop

Say what you want, but Michael Myers is the official king of Halloween. Not only was he the inspiration for many other slasher franchises, his movies are named after the holiday! Michael Myers is most known for his iconic mask and his ability to stalk his victim with ease. He inspires fear in his victims by approaching them in a slow and stoic manner (seriously, why can't people just outrun him?) and is tough to bring down.

Friday the 13th: Jason Voorhees Costumes

Jason Costume - Shop    Jason Hockey Mask - Shop

Sexy Jason Costume - Shop    Machete - Shop

Another horror powerhouse, Jason Voorhees! Did you know that the Friday the 13th franchise was created to capitalize on the success of the Halloween franchise? While he wasn't featured in the first film (spoiler alert: the killer was actually his mother!), he became an unstoppable force once he rose from the depths of Camp Crystal Lake. As an added bonus, Halloween is right around the time hockey season starts, so you'll be ready to head to a game in your horror hockey mask. Just be sure to leave the machete at home.

Child's Play: Chucky Costumes

Chucky Costume - Shop    Chucky Mask - Shop    Bride of Chucky Costume - Shop

Bride of Chucky Wig - Shop    Sexy Chucky Costume - Shop

What’s another way to strike fear into people? Dressing up as a murderous toy doll ought to do the trick. Chucky was introduced in Child’s Play nearly 30 years ago and has since been a popular horror movie character. If you’re going to be Chucky for Halloween, all you’ll have to do is pick out one of these costumes. No need to use voodoo to transfer your soul into a doll’s body!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Leatherface Costumes

Leatherface Costume - Shop    Leatherface Mask - Shop     Leatherface Butcher Costume - Shop

Leatherface Makeup Mask - Shop    Butcher Meat Hook - Shop    Chainsaw - Shop

While John Carpenter’s Halloween set a precedent for horror movies, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is known for originating the slasher subgenre as well as being one of the most influential horror films of the century. Leatherface was the original slasher and he was downright relentless. Unlike Myers, who would follow his victims at a steady pace until they holed up in some hiding place, Leatherface throws all subtlety out the window and chases his victims at full speed with a chainsaw blaring. You need to be so loud if this becomes your Halloween costume. Your gruesome look will be enough to get noticed on October 31st.

Horror movies are well-known for the variety of frightening characters whose image remains with the viewer long after seeing the movie. It could be someone creepy who briefly appears like the twins in The Shining or Billy the Puppet from the Saw films. Or it could be other villains like the ghost face killer from Scream or Regan from The Exorcist. Better yet, dress up as Billy the puppet from Saw and host a spooky game night. Anybody who comes to that party is a true friend.

Who is your favorite horror movie villain? Are you planning on a horror movie costume for Halloween? Tell us what your favorite horror movies are or which ones you plan on watching this year in the days leading up to Halloween. HalloweenCostumes.com Presents: The Descendants Costumes

Ever since its premiere in the summer of 2015, The Descendants has been well on its way to becoming a Disney Channel classic. This is no surprise, considering it was directed by Kenny Ortega, who is known for directing other classics such as Hocus Pocus and High School Musical. With the release of The Descendants 2 this last summer, this Halloween is the perfect time to dress up with a friend or family member as your favorite villain/conflicted villain child duo.

Evie and The Evil Queen

Evie Costume          Evil Queen Costume

When you dress up as Evie and the Evil Queen this Halloween, you won't need a magic mirror to tell you how great you look! Evie is known for her sense of fashion, and this costume doesn't disappoint, bringing Evie's edgy look together with the Evil Queen's regal, dark style.

Mal and Maleficent

Mal Costume         Maleficent Costume

This costume combination is everything you'd hope for when you dress up as Mal, minus the whole turning-into-a-dragon thing. That would make for one expensive costume! This look is easiest to rock if you happen to have purple hair, but if you don’t, don’t worry, we sell a Mal wig, too.

Jay and Jafar

Jay Costume         Jafar's Staff         Jafar's Headpiece

If you found yourself with a magic lamp, what would you wish for? Probably a costume like Jay or Jafar, and I don’t blame you. The sleeveless vest and glove look would leave you looking rough around the edges, but in a good way. And the Jafar costume? Well, if you wish for Jafar's headpiece, you're going to be using your second wish on taller doorframes, because that is one tall hat!

Carlos and Cruella De Vil

Carlos Costume        Cruella De Vil Costume

When you go out this Halloween as Cruella De Vil, you don’t have to worry about whether this costume is humane! Her glamorous white stole only required 67 Dalmatians instead of the movie's 101. Don't worry, I'm just pulling your leg. It was only 38. Again, kidding! It is all faux fur so you can rock this look without a drop of guilt!

So whether you’re leaving for a weekend, a week, or even a couple months you’ll be ready for the next costumed hootenanny you come across!

Back to Black

Black Travel-Friendly Costumes

Red Satin Cape       Black Mask       Black Heavy Metal Wig       Black Bat Wings

Packing is tricky. Most of us don’t have the ability to make sure we’ve packed matching socks, forget packing the pants to match that wild purple shirt we tossed into our bag for seemingly no reason. But a globetrotter like you knows how to keep it simple, right? A black wardrobe for traveling will make it easy to mix and match your clothing. Just learn from our mistakes and avoid powdered sugar when you're wearing your chic black ensemble. Sure, that's a hard task when you're chowing down on beignets in New Orleans but outside of Cafe Du Mund, this one culinary sacrifice will be worth it! The above accessories will make it easy to transform your ensemble from street friendly to trick-or-treat trendy. You’ll become king of rock when you pair your black Tee and jeans with a rocker wig. Get in touch with your wild side by adding an animal twist to your favorite little black dress. Throw on this red cape over your black tank and skinny jeans to become a street smart Red Riding Hood. You might be wearing all black but with these costume accessories, no one has to sacrifice their flair for fun!

CAsual Costuming

Casual Travel-Friendly Costumes

Mullet Wig       Tattoo Sleeve       Saturday Night Live Wayne Wig       Mario Accessory Kit       SNL Garth Wig

Not everyone is traveling to the big city to see and be seen. Some of the best vacations don’t call for anything but t-shirts and jeans. If you happened to line up this casual holiday with Halloween or any other costume oriented festival, it’s easy to make your relaxed garb a lot more fun! Sporting a tank top and jeans? Make yourself into a friendly neighborhood alligator wrestler with our lustrous blond mullet wig and a full sleeve tattoo, together they will take up about a centimeter of space in your suitcase and eighty percent of your phone's photo gallery! Traveling with a pal? Buckle up for an excellent party when you pack these simple Wayne and Garth wigs and glasses along. Cool and casual folks will find it easy to stow a couple costume accouterments in their carry-on and on the way home that wig will make great padding for that souvenir mug. Hey, who says traveling with a wig wasn't sensible?

Flying First Class

First Class Travel-Friendly Costumes

Fever Devil Kit       Monocle       Zombie Wig       OppoSuits Pumpkin Suit

Is that important Acme Co. convention landing on Halloween this year? Are you traveling cross country to your friend's wedding in late October? While we’re all for looking your best, that doesn’t mean you have to abandon your license to dress in costume during this spooky time of year. There are plenty of accessories that’ll take you from dress clothes to fancy dress clothes. So, by all means, sit through the eight hours of lectures and meet and greets, but once you’re released it’s time to don your dressy alter ego. Go all out and add some devilish additions to your black business attire or let your wig hair down and party like the undead. No need to bring any extra outfits along, these accessories will only enhance your dress clothes. That is, unless you’re bringing along the dapper pumpkin suit. We have to admit, we just included this example because we thought it would be awesome to bring this suit on a business trip. After all, anyone who schedules a conference on Halloween has to respect a guy with both fashion and flair. Someone has to keep the meet and greet interesting!

Traveling Incognito

Incognito Travel-Friendly Costumes

Gothic Darling       Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Dr. Gonzo       Beetlejuice Shirt and Wig       Mummy Morphsuit

Packing economically is all well and good, but dressing up halfway isn't an option if you’re headed to a costume festival. These easy-to-pack pieces are sure to turn some heads. The suits will take the party to another level when you’re dancing with ghouls and gremlins under bright lights! These are goofy, ghoulish, and gorgeous options and they all pack up with ease when you're ready to head home. The Gothic girl dress will look cute on the street and you can make it party-friendly by braiding your hair and pulling on some white knee highs. Tight spandex onesies and pleated dresses not your kind of costume? A great wig has always been part of the incognito way and what's more fitting than traveling as one of the world's most infamous journalists? Just stay clear of the Las Vegas Strip, we're not sure Gonzo is welcome there after how his last trip went down. Now, Beetlejuice? He'll be right at home where ever people are chanting his name! Maybe you've just robbed a bank or witnessed a mafia crime, maybe you're hitting the road for adventure's sake. Either way, traveling incognito has never been this fun!

Trekking in T-Shirts

Travel-Friendly T-Shirt Costumes

Oktoberfest Fraulein Shirt      Pirate Costume Shirt       Batman Costume Shirt       R2-D2 Tank Top

Are you thinking, "sure, I’d love to dress up for Oktoberfest but why should I bring along a costume that I’ll only wear for one event?" Well, when you pack one of these t-shirts, your costume and your every day casual wear become one and the same! You’ll be welcomed into the Oktoberfest beer hall with open arms and you don't even need to change your clothes. Take your simple t-shirt to the next level with a couple cute braids or by slipping a pirate patch over your eye, depending on the shirt's graphic, of course. Traveling with friends? Have them bring along complimentary shirts. We’ve got the Robin for your Batman, a Leia and a Vader, we even have a Lederhosen t-shirt to go along with the sweet Fraulein, Ach du Lieber! Since these t-shirts are easy to pack and make slick street wear, your costuming options are vast as the endless road ahead of you!

Roughing It

Roughing It Travel-Friendly Costumes

Mustache Multi-Pack       Vampire Fangs       Slashed Temporary 3D Tattoo Kit       Wonder Superhero Accessory Kit

Is your suitcase straining at its zippers? Are you traveling light with nothing but a carry-on and one personal item?  Are you thinking about securing it shut with a couple rolls of duct tape? Hey, we've all been there. We feel for you. You might be thinking, “Psh! No way I’ve got any room for a costume in here.” We get it, you've got to be sensible. But have no fear, you've still got options! These accessories are small enough to slip into that tiny side pocket that’s made for a tiny travel journal you never actually use. So, leave that unreasonably hard-to-write-in Mead book behind and bring along one of these accessories. It’s awesome how easy it is to transform yourself when you simply slap on a dashing ‘stache or put on some dangerous looking fangs. Now you can say that you've traveled the world and nowhere, not once, have you ever been called a party pooper. Your poor duffle might look ready to bust but take it from us, there’s always room for a little more fun in there!

Every adventurer can carry a little whimsy in their pocket whether you're riding the subway in the Big Apple or you're venturing down country roads by motorcycle. The view from your hotel room might be unique and beautiful but traveling isn't only about seeing the sites, it's about connecting with people. Maybe you're from different cultures, maybe you eat different foods, or speak a different language, but when you get together in costume, you'll find you have more in common than you thought! So slip those vampire fangs into your side pocket and ready your tuxedo t-shirt, it's time to get to know the world! Tell us all about your travels in the comments below, and be sure to check out our fun Halloween accessories!

This Is Fine DIY Halloween Costume

When everything around you is burning, sometimes you just need to pour a cup of coffee and say “THIS IS FINE.” Okay, don’t do that. Please don’t! But maybe you have to pretend, so you might as well do that in a dog suit with a bowler hat. Say what? Alright, stay with us for a minute, because we’re talking about the “This Is Fine” dog, from KC Green’s Gunshow comic “On Fire”. Keep reading for the background on this iconic comic–“icomic”? Can that be a word? Please?–and to see how we put this DIY costume together!

Original “On Fire” Comic

"This Is Fine" comic by KC Green

The “This Is Fine” image was first published on January 9th, 2013 in KC Green’s Gunshow web comic. The original, full comic is titled “On Fire” but memes tend to include only the first two frames with the dog saying “THIS IS FINE.” The meme started to pick up steam during 2014 and interest spiked in July 2016. What many don't realize is that Green posted an updated version of the comic, this time with the name “This is Not Fine” (some language NSFW), on August 2016 on comics website The Nib. Our DIY is going to focus on the original comic.

This Is Fine DIY

Here’s our DIY version of the comic. It's super simple, really, just a dog costume and a bowler hat. (We'll get to those in a minute.) Of course, we digitally added our image into the This Is Fine meme. Unless you're somehow reading this from the year 3000, you probably can't do that in real life, so you'll probably want to carry around a coffee cup so everyone gets the reference. Maybe some fake flames would help as well, which leads us to our next section.

Adult Cocker Spaniel Costume        Bowler Brown Hat        Hanging Flame Light

These are the suggested products for this DIY. The dog costume and bowler hat are a must! Any old coffee mug is fine, you probably have one of those sitting around. (If you don't, borrow one from a neighbor!) And since you won't be able to bring a digital version of the comic along with you, grab some fake flame lights to simulate the fire. Our suggested hanging flame light runs on AC power, but you can bring a battery pack with you or find a battery-powered version. Just don’t use real fire. Please don’t use real fire!

Reservoir Disney: Disney Princesses as Tarantino Characters

Alright, let’s play a fun game! Imagine who or what your favorite Disney Princesses would go as for Halloween. Did you picture any characters from a Tarantino film? No? Well, it’s the 25th anniversary of Reservoir Dogs this year, so we’ve got those movies on the mind. And so we thought it would be interesting to mashup Disney Princesses with Tarantino characters.

No, seriously. There are some great parallels! Picture Snow White dancing like Mia Wallace in Pulp Fiction. Or Aurora waking up as Beatrix Kiddo in Kill Bill. It makes for some great contrasts, too. These are characters with character, if you know what we mean. And “personality goes a long way”, right? Enough with gabbing about the concept, let’s take a look at the artwork!

Spider-Man Homecoming DIY

Spider-Man first appeared in 1962 and has grown into one of the most popular superheroes. It’s no surprise that every year kids want to dress up as Spider-Man. With the recent release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, this year will not be any different. During the movie, Peter learns “If you’re nothing without that suit than you shouldn’t have it”. Having it taken away by Tony Stark, Peter then dons his old homemade Spider-Man suit. Who didn’t love that suit? That’s why we decided to make one ourselves.

Here’s our version of the Homecoming handmade Spider-Man suit. Pick up a red hoodie here or at a thrift store. Look for something cheap because you will cut it up! Draw the giant spider in the middle. Next cut the sleeves make sure to cut close to the seam so it doesn’t fray or roll. While Spider-Man’s eyes are cut into the mask, we decided to take the easy way and just use goggles.  Whatever you do make sure you can see through it. Add a blue body suit, gloves, and boots and voilà!

DIY Spider-Man

Blue Morphsuit      Red Hoodie      Red Skin Mask

Spider-Man Boot Covers      Spider-Man Homecoming Gloves      Radioactive Aviator Black Goggles

These are the products we used to make our Spider-man DIY. The blue morphsuit is a fast and easy way to get the blue needed to create this look. Outfitted with the gloves, sweatshirt, and boots, and you’re almost there! You can go with a standalone red mask, or the spare mask from that red Morphsuit you’ve got laying around. (Superhero fans like us have one in every color, right?) However, we recommend the mask because it is longer to help cover your neck, got to keep that identity a secret. Top it off with goggles and your all set!

The Final Look

Spider-man DIY

"Hey guys!"

Once you have your suit on there’s nothing left to do but strike that Spider-Man superhero pose! Not one that involves climbing a wall, we don’t have superhero powers or anything. Stick to one that shows you slinging that spider web at Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, or whichever one you are fighting. We don’t want to brag or anything, but our DIY costume looks pretty close to the Peter Parker version from the movie!

“With great power there must also come great responsibility”. What would you do if you had Spider-Man power? While you may feel like a superhero ready to take action in your homemade suit, we strongly discourage that. With so many superhero DIYs, will this be one you try?
