The film Jurassic World was kind of a big deal this year, since, you know, it set the all time record for highest box office sales worldwide and all. BUT. Let's be honest: the best parts of Jurassic World were any nostalgic throwbacks and references to the film that started it all...Jurassic Park! JW is shiny and new, but every character, scene, and line of JP is, and forever will be, classic. If you want to be trendy, go ahead and dress as Owen Grady this year. But if you seek to be hailed a "Halloween hero" by fellow late 80s/early 90s babies this Halloween weekend, go with a classic character from Jurassic Park.

Since we at HalloweenCostumes.com love a challenge, we didn't opt for the black leather clad Dr. Malcolm, the jeans and khaki sporting Dr. Grant, or even the white-suited straw-hatted John Hammond. We chose to recreate two costumes worn by the Barbasol blundering, vending machine plundering, inGen underling, Dennis Nedry.

Look 1: Embryo Exchange Scene

"Dodgson! We got Dodgson here! See nobody cares."

This scene was so cool, that even if you're a girl you wanted to buy a can of Barbasol shaving cream and pretend there were dinosaur embryos inside a secret bottom compartment.If you've always wanted an excuse to shout, "Dodgson! We've got Dodgson here," [or insert friend's name] then this costume is your ticket! Here's what we came up with:

There isn't really anything do "DIY," at least as far as crafting goes! We just assembled all of the items shown above, starting with the adult size fat suit underneath the additional apparel items. We used our leather Chewbacca messenger bag as the briefcase full of money, and were sure to purchase a classic Barbasol shaving cream can from our local pharmacy. If this costume doesn't quite take it far enough for you, and you want to add a special extra something, oh, say...black tar on your face, read on for a second option!

Look 2: Rainy Dilophosaurus Attack Scene

"It's a stick! Stick, stupid! Ah, no wonder you're extinct."

"I'm gonna run you over when I come back down!" "Yeah, well I'm going to spit poison in your face and eat you alive!" If only dinosaurs could talk, perhaps poor Dennis Nedry may have stood a chance. Then again, he totally deserved what he got. If you want to recreate this rainy, poison-y, surprise dinosaur attack-y scene for 'Ween'15, here's how!

Can we just pat ourselves on the backs for a second? Nailed it! You can too, by simply assemmbling the products above, and squirting everything with a water bottle when you're ready to hit the town! A simple spray bottle is all we used to fog up the glasses and drench the rain coat and the shirt. We used our hands to smear black cream makeu across the model's eyes, and onto the mask...to achieve that "just got poisoned" effect.

As the main security systems programmer, Dennis Nedry had full access to everywhere in Jurassic Park. And how else do you gain full access but through an official looking badge? Print off the image above, adhere a fetching picture of yourself into the upper corner, and you too shall be granted full park access! Just don't ever type in your password wrong, or your ears will be submitted to, "Uh uh uh! You didn't say the magic word! Uh uh uh! Uh uh uh!"

Unlike Mr. Hammond, who famously "spared no expense," these costumes are relatively inexpensive to put together! Which of these Dennis Nedry DIY costumes is your favorite? The main Star Wars galaxy was much like our own Milky Way: one hundred-thousand light years across with hundreds of millions of stars. And also like ours, many of those stars had planetary systems, some habitable or otherwise useful. (Mining natural resources, for example, or hiding children from their Sith Lord fathers.) You may know them from the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, or even the new Battlefront video game. So without further a-dewback - yes, that happened - let’s travel from the Core World of Coruscant through the most iconic Mid Rim and Outer Rim planets!

Besides the dark, sloping helmet of Darth Vader, there are few things more villainous and iconic in the Star Wars universe than Boba Fett. Officially introduced in the second film of the original trilogy, The Empire Strikes Back, the rollout of Boba Fett to the already ravenous fandom in the late 1970s was a carefully orchestrated affair. Before the film, Fett appeared in cartoons, action figures, and even in a small-town parade. Lucasfilm clearly intended for Fett to be a memorable character. There is no stronger evidence to this fact than the many revisions the character went through before his debut in Empire. The Star Wars saga is filled with tons of visually dazzling battle scenes, the most common being lightsaber duels. Putting together this authentic Krampus costume was very straight-forward. Our adult Krampus costume includes pretty much everything you need, and the embellishments are up to you! The mask is a "half mask," which will leave the lower half of your face exposed. We blended black and white cream makeup until it matched the grey tone of the half mask, and then fitted our Krampus with some custom werewolf teeth. Don't forget your whip and chain! How else will you torture misbehaving children??

There is no greater evidence of professional wrestling as “sports entertainment” than the use and effectiveness of finishing maneuvers. Finishers, as they are often called, are signature moves used by wrestlers, often near the end of the match, to finally secure the pinfall and win. What makes finishers so fun (and infuriating) is that in the hands of one superstar, they are simply another traditional wrestling maneuver, but when categorized as a finisher, they become overpowered, unstoppable moves that no one can kick out of. The WWE more or less popularized the finisher as the all-powerful behemoth that it is today, so we tried our best at putting together an infographic detailing some of the greatest finishers from the WWE, past and present.

Roman Reigns

Finishing Move: Spear

Far from a unique finisher, the spear was most famously used by Bill Goldberg during his career in both the WCW and WWE. Usually, the formula is the bigger the wrestler, the better the spear. Reigns is not as muscular as Goldberg, and at 6’3, he is not the largest wrestler in the room, but he makes up for it with his sheer athleticism. Instead of a gaining speed in the run-up to the spear, Reigns’ version involves a powerful burst of energy, allowing him to execute the move at any moment.

Brock Lesnar

Finishing Move: F5

A power move for one of the most powerful wrestlers the WWE has ever seen. The F5 involves Lesnar putting his opponent on his shoulders in a traditional fireman’s carry, then falling backwards while propelling the opponent's face and body onto the mat. Putting a large professional wrestler on your shoulders is hard enough, but Lesnar does that plus throws them into the air. The F5 is not the prettiest or smoothest looking finisher, but you cannot understate how much it looks like it hurts.

The Undertaker

Finishing Move: Tombstone Piledriver

On the list of dangerous professional wrestling moves, the piledriver is near the very top. The move was banned by the WWE in the early 2000s because of the risk for head and neck injury. One of the few wrestlers still allowed to perform the move is also the one who perfected it. After picking the opponent up into a scoop slam lift, the performer then falls to their knees, “driving” the opponent’s skull into the mat. The Undertaker put his morbid spin on the move by folding his opponent’s arms up for the “Rest in Peace” cover.

Finn Bálor

Finishing Move: Coup de Grâce

The current golden boy of the WWE’s developmental territory NXT, Prince Devitt took on the Finn Bálor persona and started using a new, brutal finishing move. Simple and devastating, the Coup de Grâce involves Bálor leaping from the top of the corner turnbuckle and coming down feet first on his opponent’s head or chest. It is a hard move to perform without actually injuring the other wrestler, which is testament to Bálor’s in-ring skill.

Sasha Banks

Finishing Move: Bank Statement

One of the freshest female wrestlers to come on the scene in a long time, Sasha Banks has quickly proven herself through pure athleticism and undeniable charisma. Her finisher, the Bank Statement, is proof positive of both. A two-part finisher, the Bank Statement is a bridging crossface submission hold transitioned from a double knee backbreaker. What makes it so great is how seamless Banks executes it, rolling over her opponent from backbreaker to chin submission.

Eddie Guerrero

Finishing Move: Frog Splash

Wrestling has a long and sad history of untimely death. Few of those deaths hit fans harder than Eddie Guerrero’s in 2005. Only 38 years old, the irony of Guerrero’s death by heart failure is that it mirrored Art Barr’s death in 1994. Barr popularized the jackknife splash, and after his death, Guerrero used the move as his own finisher in tribute to his fallen partner. Barr did a great Frog Splash, but Guerrero took it to another level. The Frog Splash is an easy maneuver, but what sells it is the smoothness, the height, and the depth in which the performer tucks and releases. Guerrero made this fan-favorite top rope body splash into a work of art.

Scott Hall

Finishing Move: Razor’s Edge/Outsider's Edge

Called the Diamond Death Drop, Razor’s Edge or Outsider’s Edge (depending on what persona Scott Hall was using at the time), this famous finisher involves lifting the opponent up by the stomach for a standard powerbomb, but instead of instantly slamming them down on their back, holding them by their arms in a crucifix-like pose, then falling to one’s knees, tossing them to the mat. Hall often added theatrics to the move by holding his opponent in the crucifix pose for several seconds and flashing a grin to the crowd before finally slamming his opponent to the ground.

Bret Hart

Finishing Move: Sharpshooter

Bret Hart came from a long line of Canadian wrestlers, but the move most associated with him actually originated in Japan. The Sharpshooter is a slightly more complex version of the Boston Crab, with the performer stepping between the opponent’s legs, twisting them around his/her own, turning the opponent over on their stomach and then leaning back, putting extreme pressure on the opponent’s back. The move has become so entwined with Hart’s own career, that Canadian wrestlers will often employ the hold to get an easy pop out of the crowd.

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin

Finishing Move: Stone Cold Stunner

If Steve Austin’s constant bird flipping and beer consuming was peak vulgarity for the WWE’s Attitude Era, then the Stone Cold Stunner was the perfect exclamation point to the middle finger he gave the “establishment” every night on Raw.  A quick kick to the gut was all he needed to set up this variation on the jawbreaker. Austin would then reach back in mid-air and grab his opponents head, bringing it down upon his shoulder as he landed seated on the mat. The entire movement can be done with one hand free, allowing the other to cradle a half-empty beer can.

The Rock

Finishing Move: The Rock Bottom

The Rock, ever the showman, rarely just picked lifted an opponent and gave them a Rock Bottom, he had to build the suspsense by jumping up and down and taunting his dazed partner—half football player, half hungry lion, patient for the kill. Once locked in place, The Rock looked left, looked right, and with a little help from his opponent, soared vertical, kicked his opponent’s legs out for further height, and slammed them straight to the ground. When executed perfectly, it was Earth shattering. It was Rome burning. It was pure, wrestling spectacle, like it should be.

Shawn Michaels

Finishing Move: Sweet Chin Music

Shawn Michaels stomping his foot in the corner of the ring before delivering his superkick finisher, Sweet Chin Music, is a perfect example of why professional wrestling has retained its popularity for so many years. Involving fans in the action is key to a successful wrestling match, and every time Michaels stood in that corner, stomping, audience members in-the-know could feel their heart rates increase. Like watching a scary movie, it is an almost perverse thrill, knowing something terrible and amazing is about to happen. On the surface, Sweet Chin Music is a simple kick to the face, but dig a bit deeper and you’ll find a finishing move that can stand with the greats—a “move” that singlehandedly kept pro wrestling alive.

We would never suggest you attempt any of these maneuvers in real life. We have no problem suggesting you dress up as your favorite wrestler, though. Put away the sewing machine and yards of fabric and splurge on a high quality, exclusive, WWE wrestling costume from our shop. From Macho Man Randy Savage to “Nature Boy” Ric Flair to Sting, these are championship worthy outfits to wear any day of the week (not weird at all).

It's 2016 and we finally have a Deadpool movie! While the past 6+ months have been littered with off-the-wall marketing campaigns and NSFW trailers, Deadpool fans have been clamoring for a movie dating all the way back to 2000 when a film featuring the quirky, anti-hero was orginally announced. After New Line Cinema dropped the project, 20th Century Fox decided to pick up the character and ultimately included him in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Ryan Reynolds cast as Deadpool. The character fell flat, but Fox was determined to move forward with a solo film featuring the superhero. Although they did initially choose a director, the film was eventually dropped. During summer 2014, though, test footage filmed two years prior leaked online and the buzz generated by fans caused Fox to pick the movie back up AGAIN. Now we'll finally get to see Deadpool on the big screen!

Multiple reports have stated that Deadpool will be accurate to the origin story depicted in the comics. While the film will feature several popular characters from the comics (that may or may not crossover into the X-Men films), they're certain to have a different look on the big screen. Check out the differences and similarities between the comics and film versions of these characters in our slider images featuring Deadpool and his friends, er..., acquaintances, ahh..., well, people who interact with him!

When Star Wars: The Force Awakens was first announced and images of a black Stormtrooper hit the internet, there was some grumbling about how the Empire would never allow for that. “All Stormtroopers are clones of Jango Fett!” they said. “The Empire was racist, they would not allow diversity in the Academy!” they said. Many of these early complaints were based on the misnomer that all Stormtroopers since The Clone Wars were actual clones. The truth is that the clone army was phased out after the era of Revenge of the Sith.

In the original trilogy, Stormtroopers were drafted through the Imperial Academy. They were a diverse group of humans. We never saw a female Stormtrooper in the original trilogy, but that’s not to say there weren’t any. In The Force Awakens. there is even a Stormtrooper that has a distinct female voice. With Phasma, the captain of the Stormtroopers a female, it is not surprising that the First Order may have further opened the doors to enlistment of both genders. There is a lot we know, and a lot we don’t know, about the changes to the Stormtrooper in the 30 years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Stick with us as we dive into the lore and see what we the canon tells us about the new First Order Stormtroopers.  

Upgraded Blaster Rifle

The original trilogy Stormtroopers used an E-11 blaster rifle as their standard issue firearm. A product of BlasTech Industries, the rifle was mass produced specifically for the Empire. It featured three modes: lethal, stun, and sting. After the Empire was defeated, treaty restrictions limited sale of weapons to the First Order, so the Sonn-Blas Corporation was created as subsidiary to secretly provide arms to the First Order. The F-11D blaster features much of the same design elements of the E-11 but with slight modifications for increased accuracy, ammunition, and overall lifespan. It also got a fresh new coat of paint, with slick white accents to pair with the First Order Stormtrooper armor.  

Trained from Birth

Unlike clone troopers, which were created in a lab, and Imperial Stormtroopers, which were drafted in their youth, First Order Stormtroopers were trained from birth to fight for the secret organization. They were not clones and they were not given a choice. In The Force Awakens, Finn remarks that he never knew his family, and has only known the First Order since birth. Information about how the First Order chooses which children to raise from birth is still scant, but it seems as if they are chosen from a variety of sources, from loyal First Order supporters volunteering their children, to the First Order taking them by force. What we do know is that the children who are taken are highly indoctrinated with First Order propaganda and are trained to be fiercely loyal to the Order. To aid in their unquestioning loyalty to the First Order, Stormtroopers were never allowed names, but were given numerical designations to further dispel individuality.  

New Training Regime

If you’ve seen the original Star Wars trilogy, you would be led to believe the Stormtroopers were some of the worst shots in the galaxy. The ongoing joke about Stormtrooper accuracy in battle no longer applies to this new generation of trooper. The First Order enforces a much stricter regimen, led in part by the reality of their situation, no longer are they the governing power, but they are the scrappy upstarts looking to retake the galaxy. The Star Wars Visual Dictionary notes that the new training regime focuses on “improvisation and counter-insurgency operations, as well as guerilla tactics.” These are Stormtroopers on the offensive, with very little room for error.  

Updated Armor

The Imperial Stormtroopers got a facelift in the years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Still instantly recognizable as foot-soldier “bad guys,” the First Order Stormtroopers were given updated armor to hopefully succeed where their predecessors failed. Beyond its obvious use as protection and for the removal of individuality from a soldier, the Stormtrooper helmet features internal communications and targeting systems to aid soldiers on the battlefield. The material that makes up the bulk of the armor also seems to have been strengthened, with Captain Phasma remarking in The Force Awakens novelization that “even a Wookiee can’t crush First Order armor.”
